This creamy fruit is so versatile when it comes to its many uses. Apart from the obvious use of incorporating them into sandwiches and salads, there are numerous other ways that you can include this amazing nutritious superfood in your life. Below is a list that you may wish to experiment with!
Add ¼ to ½ an avocado to smoothies to give it that nice creamy texture. It’s also a great addition to any green smoothie.

3. Facial Mask
What better way to get that healthy glow than with something as natural as avocados? Avocados are great for moisturising your skin due to its healthy fats. Try combining avocados with honey, olive oil (or coconut oil) and oatmeal. Leave on skin for about 15 minutes and rinse off. You’ll reveal noticeably plump fresh skin!
4. Cake & Cookies
Avocados are a great substitute for butter or oil in baked good recipes such as cookies, cakes or muffins. Generally you can assume a one-to-one substitution of avocado for butter, although some results may vary slightly depending on the recipe. It’s also good to note that you may like to “thin out” thicker batters or mixes by adding another liquid to the recipe.
Another great way to use avocados are in mousse! Try this dairy-free recipe here: https://www.taste.com.au/recipes/dairy-free-avocado-chocolate-mousse/33f015f8-5a87-4b9d-a1fc-91f9e04fa72c
Yes! You guessed it! Avocados are also great in ice-cream! For an easy recipe, blend avocados, coconut milk, honey (use maple syrup or rice malt syrup if vegan) and a little lemon juice for an amazing homemade dessert. Add a ripe banana if you have one handy for extra flavour and sweetness. Freeze overnight or for at least 4 hours and enjoy!
